Result- KXIP won by 8 wickets and 46 balls to spare!

Match Report-

Apart from the toss nothing went right for Pune Warriors India! First home game for Pune this season, which was a nightmare for Mathews and his team. first of all Yuvraj missed the game because of sore back. They lost wickets at regular intervals... Every batsman hardly got any start. On other side every bowler from KXIP bowled brilliant line and length. Apart from Praveen Kumar everyone gave less than 5 runs per over. And they shared their wickets between them. In between, domestic uncapped local hero, Gurkeerat Singh took an amazing catch of Taylor, running back and throwing his hands to it.

PWI managed to score just 99/9 runs in their quota of 20 overs. And it was just a matter of how many overs will KXIP take to knock those runs. Adam Gilchrist blasted Bhuvneshwar Kumar in his first over for 16 runs. Playing his first competitive game after a long time it was a great start. After he got out to Mathews young hero Mandeep Singh and debutant Vohra had a good partnership. Sadly Mandy couldn't stay there to hit winning runs. Hussey and Vohra made sure that there wasn't going to be heap of wickets for PWI. And KXIP won the match comfortably by 8 wickets and almost 8 overs to spare.

My Views-

It was a little bit boring match by IPL standards. But still the way KXIP were fielding was awesome to watch. They were lightning fast, diving around, throwing the ball, saving runs for the team. And the bowling was good as well. Full marks to Gilly and his boys. Gilly will try to repeat what he did in South Africa in IPL-2 where he won the trophy for Deccan Chargers with the same support staff with him! He has the same coaches with him (for KXIP) now! So it will be exciting to watch KXIP play!
