Result- RCB won by 7 wickets and 14 balls to spare!
Man Of The Match- VIRAT KOHLI
Match Report-
RCB lost their previous match against SRH in the super over. It was revenge time for RCB, in their home ground. After loosing the toss in the heat, Kohli and his men took the field and bowled really well up front. SRH was unable to get big overs in. When Sangakkara got out, the team was hobbling at 62/3 in 10.3 overs. But then hard hitters Perera and White, took the charge and paced the innings perfectly. They hit the ball all around in the last few overs. Perera scored 40(24) while White scored half century 52(34)! Final flourish by these two power hitters, meant that RCB had to chase with required rate excess of 8!
Sangakkara gone for Hanuma Vihari in the first over who had taken wicket of Gayle in the last match. But the magic doesn't work always. Mayank Agarwal hit him 12 runs and set the tone for RCB. Gayle got out on the bowling of Ishant Sharma in 7th over. AB De Villiers and Kohli then keep the score-board ticking. De Villiers miscued one shot of White's part time, and he got out. After that it was all Virat Kohli. With Henriques, he saw the team through. He scored 93 runs off just 47 balls, which was enough for him to win the Man Of The Match Award!
My Views-
Sangakkara and SRH were not third time lucky. They had problem with their 5th bowler quota and they clearly struggled today! Steyn also didn't get any wicket, that also made things difficult for Sangakkara. On the other hand, Kohli proved that apart from Gayle there is much more in the team! Even if Gayle failed, RCB can win! That was thumping win for RCB, which take them to no.2 in the points table!
