PEPSI IPL-6.....

The most successful Carnival of Domestic(?) Cricket is going to start on the eve of 2nd April,with a Grand Opening Ceremony at the Salt Lake Stadium of Kolkata!!
    Auction of 108 players, for IPL-6 and for one year contract, took place in Chennai, on 4th of February! New brand name (Pepsi) and one new franchise (Sunrisers Hyderabad) were some new things!! The auction was good! But some buys and the price tags were definitely not expected!
Some of the big buys were---
Mumbai Indians--Glenn Maxwell(Aussie all-rounder)--$1 million
Pune Warriors India--Ajantha Mendis(Sri-Lankan spinner)--$725,000
                                 --Kane Richardson(Aussie Pacer)--$700,000
                                 --Abhishek Nair(Indian All-rounder)--$675,000 
Sunrisers Hyderabad--Thisara Perera(Sri-Lankan All-rounder)--$675,000
Kolkata Night Riders--Sachitra Senanayake(Sri-Lankan Spinner)--$675,000
Chennai Super Kings--Chris Morris(South African pacer)--$625,000
                                   --Dirk Nannes(Aussie Pacer)--$600,000

The big names like Ricky Ponting and Michael Clarke were bought on there Base Price ($400,000 each) by Mumbai Indians and Pune Warriors India respectively!!!

So this is how the last chance of buying players for IPL-6 was done and dusted!!! I thought the prices which the players got was much more as it is only a one year contract, which means the team has to select them in the playing XI to make the money count! Let's hope that the players don't disappoint there owners!!!
Many of you will be eagerly waiting for 2nd April, for IPL to kick-off.... I am also waiting for the same!!
