Match Report-
Before the first ball was bowled, many of the experts thought that CSK will win easily against the PWI! They also were playing without Mathews and Yuvraj. So that added to the pressure.
Ross Taylor won important toss and chose to bat first. Aaron Finch started in blazing fashion. He hit Nannes, Jadeja all over the place in the powerplay! He continued to do so after the powerplay was over as well. He scored 65(45) with 10 fours and 2 sixes. Uthappa played a quiet innings on the other end. But they lost Finch, Uthappa, Taylor, M.Marsh in quick succession. CSK sensed a chance there. But it wasn't to be. Steve Smith came and played some unbelievable shots and took the attack on opposition. He scored 39 with strike rate of 243 in just 16 balls. That was amazing. The one shot he played of Bravo was breath-taking to watch. PWI reached 159/5 in their 20 overs.
Many CSK fans thought that they will easily chase this down. But it was a horrible start for CSK. They lost Anirudha Srikant in the first over, which was eventually a wicket maiden by Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Raina and Vijay also soon departed. CSK were 40/3 after 6.4 overs. Jadeja and Badrinath tried to form a little partnership in the middle overs. Badrinath scored 34 of 26 balls while Jadeja made 27(22). But once they were out, no one really settled in to hit the big shots in the end. Bravo, Dhoni, Morkel couldn't hit the big shots. And PWI won by 24 runs in the end.

My Views-
It was a slower pitch than the one that was used against RCB. The ball didn't come on the bat once it was old. That made the things difficult for the stroke players like Jadeja, Dhoni, Bravo, Morkel. I think CSK shouldn't have left Hussey today. Because Morkel wasn't used for bowling and came in too late on the slower pitch! Hussey would have been handy. Dirk Nannes went for 41 without any wicket that hurt CSK! Because he is a wicket taker new ball bowler. They need to take wickets in the powerplay which they couldn't do today!
On the other hand, the forced change that they had to make work veery well for PWI. They had to find a place for Steve Smith, which they did and worked for them! He showed what he can do with the bat and took 3 catches too! It will be tough choice for PWI management, as they will have to left their captain Mathews out if they have to play Smith. PWI played well today! And they bowled brilliantly as well, at start in death and in middle, their bowlers did fantastic job.
